Eels
Hereunder
I will introduce some facts about eels. If any mistakes, please
pardon me.

Species of eels
Eels, also named white eels, are a common kind of fresh
water fish. There are more than 18 kinds of eels, which
mainly are of long fin (ie, a-d/1.100 value is about 7~17%),
together with five kinds of short fin (ie, a-d/1.100 value
is about 0.2~5%).
Only
Anguilla japonica, Anguilla anguilla, Anguilla rostrata
and Anguilla australis can be farmed successfully until
now. In Mainland China, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea, which
are major eel farming areas, Anguilla rostrata and Anguilla
australis farming are not acceptable. Anguilla japonica
is the major farmed kind in those four areas. Recently,
Anguilla anguilla was successfully farmed in Mainland China.
This may change eel markets anyhow.
